About the drawing

A brand-new [finished 3 days ago] portrait of Emilia Clarke as Daenerys Targaryen, one of Game of Thrones tv-show and A Song of Ice and Fire saga characters.
I have a mixed feelings about Dany. I admire the transformation she has gone through: from a delicate, shy and a bit naive girl to a strong and confident woman, she also adjusted to be a part of a completely different culture and respects its customs. However, I don't approve some of her actions. Sometimes she's too self-confident and one day it may lead Daenerys to her downfall.

Two reference photos were used to draw this portrait. I preferred the look of her face in this picture, but her neck and shoulders weren't visible, so I decided to conjoin it with this photo. I really enjoyed drawing this portrait, especially the hair :aww:

What I find beautiful about this piece is the way in which you have used the contrasting shadow/light on Daenerys' face, which somewhat emits an innocent feel. The expression on her face, while being one of neutral emotion, seems to be what had me so fixated on your work in the first place. In all honesty, it almost looks like a black and white photograph. The detail in her hair and on her collar bones are also what struck me immediately. I quite like how you've manipulated the lighting/contrast element in this piece. Overall, I couldn't really find anything that I didn't like about this, and I urge you to continue producing more art. This is absolutely stunning.
