the title: Godsmack's song, No rest for the wicked
Why such a composition? I came across the photo on which is based the upper portrait, and quite liked it. Then, all of sudden, I started googling for some pictures which would match it. Creating it, I was highly inspired by scotty309's drawings, however, I decided to dust off my watercolours I had received from my friend in winter, and PAINT it
"No rest for the wicked". Well... I browsed Godsmack's songs and thought the title of this song suits the best. Somehow.
I'm still not happy with the skin colour. It's too dark and differs in each figure. The forearm in the upper portrait is a disaster, especially the veins
And the guitar was pain in the ass! At least I'm satisfied with it The guitar strings are also painted with brush, not some white gel pen trick or something
Finished yesterday's night.
Hope you like my *serious* attempt at painting with watercolours. Thank you for the feedback in advance

About the subject | the choice of the reference photo
Sully Erna, the leader of the hard rock band Godsmack. But I believe everyone knows it for now, as I've already drawn him 3 times in last 6 monthsWhy such a composition? I came across the photo on which is based the upper portrait, and quite liked it. Then, all of sudden, I started googling for some pictures which would match it. About the drawing
I must confess it wasn't a piece of cake to do. It took me two months to complete, as I was busy with taking exams and, first of all, my moods were changing while painting this triple portrait. I was satisfied, but five minutes later I wanted to rip it into pieces! It really drove me nuts sometimes! I guess my patience with watercolours isn't so solid as it is when I draw with pencilsI'm still not happy with the skin colour. It's too dark and differs in each figure. The forearm in the upper portrait is a disaster, especially the veins

I saw this and thought, "Why the fuck isn't this in my favorites?!" The watercolors look incredible. I honestly think it looks really good with the tattoos. Usually when I see Sully in black and white, his tattoos get blended into a mess, but with a bit of color, they look much better.
I am familiar with all three of these pictures (frequent "Sully Erna" Googlers, raise your hand...), and I think you did a great job capturing them. His facial expressions, namely on the top and bottom right pictures, are perfect. The only detail I would call into question is his left pointer finger in the bottom right picture. The curve looks off to me and the finger a bit thick, but I suppose it would be curved while playing guitar. Either way, this is incredible and is now in my favorites! Awesome job, and I hope to see more paintings from you in the future.
Especially of Sully.
