About the subject | the choice of the reference photo
The lady depicted in my drawing is Liv Tyler, who used to be one of my favourite actresses in the past. Or, to be more precise: when I saw The Lord of The Rings about 10 years ago. She was my "girl crush" because of her beauty as Arwen. The drawing had been started in 2010 and I gave up on it shortly after. Some time ago I posted the unfinished wip of this portrait at my Facebook fanpage and received a lot of positive feedback on it. Later, Paula [=pbird12] drew Liv from the same photo, and encouraged me to finish my drawing. These two reason made me decide to get down to it Here is Paula's wonderful version: I dedicate my version to you, Paula, for your kindness and precious support
About the drawing
Half of this portrait was drawn in 2010, therefore some parts might look better if I'd executed them now - the eyes for example. I decided to go for minimal style, as the reference photo was pale, and when I printed it out, it was even more pale. I know I might be told to copy *IleanaHunter's style, but my piece differs from her unique style. Ileana does much less shading and far more details And I discovered Ileana's beautiful art later than I had started this portrait of Liv.
