It's Jensen Ackles, an actor whom I like a lot for his role in the tv-show Supernatural. I bet you already know this c: As I usually draw frontal portraits, I thought it would be nice to change it. One day I am hoping to draw a profile portrait as I haven't ever done it. Anyway, this photo of Jensen attracted me because of the lips texture and the way light reflects in his eyes. The simplicity of this picture somehow seemed very alluring, too. I started drawing it in May [!] and finished a few days ago.
The scan you see is actually a lil' bit darker than an original drawing. To be exact, only his face is slightly darker. The blackness of his head, neck and shoulders are as dark as in the real drawing. Blame my scanner, which always brightens too much places which are already bright so later I need to 'repair' scans in Photoshop so they look like they do in person I decided to draw skin pores this time. I hope you see them For the first time since ages I am satisfied with the mouth. It always looks fake and flat, but now I like the way it turned out. Jensen has perfect lips to draw ^^ Hope you like it. The next portraits I am going to draw will be of unknown women... but I hope you aren't let-down You're very welcome to leave comments and favs, as I always appreciate them

Oh my goodness. LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!!!!!!!! His eyes especially!!! So pretty! So beautiful!!! So freaking beautiful!!! The shading, the lighting, everything on this picture is beautiful. I just noticed his hair too. It looks so good!!! You have such wonderful talent! I love to see that you are putting it to use and not wasting it at all! I am very envois of your talent and I hope that you keep up with your drawings. They are very beautiful. Especially since they are Dean, Sam and Castiel I'm so glad that I found you on here and that you are sharing your work with us! It is truly amazing!
How in the did you manage to get the black of his hair and sweater so black and smooth? I am currently working on a Jon Snow portrait and I pencils that go up to 9B and I can't seem to make it smooth or as truly dark as that. Any suggestions?
Hey, sorry for the late reply! Well, I draw many layers with soft pencils and blend them with the blending stump. I explained it step by step at my blog, but sorry, it's in Polish I put it into Google translator, maybe you'll understand this mess translate.google.com/translate…
Matko Święta Uśmiechnięta. Ubóstwiam. Przecież to jest tak cholernie niesamowite, on tu tak pięknie wygląda, że nie da się nie gapić na to z rozdziawioną w zachwycie buzią. I daj takiej do ręki ołówek...
You can tell a lot of effort was put into this. This is a very high quality drawing that looks almost like the original. The lighting was captured well and the shading is not too weak or over done. I love the fact that you got his freckles on his nose just right; they do not look like horrible splotches. And his facial scruff does not look like just some half-assed scribbles. Kudos to you for an excellent piece!
