After I had watched two movies which Jared plays in a few times in this week (Lord of the war and Highway were on air) I thought it's high time for me to finish Jared's portrait which I've been working on for a few weeks. So here it is I chose this photo of Leto to draw because sometimes I like to draw things, which are tricky for me to do - for egzample an open mouth, a beard and a moustache. Yeah, I'm kinda stupid masochist. As always, something had to go wrong. This time - the blinders and the left-side part of Jared's shirt (though it looks much better in real). But you know what? I consider it as my best portrait of Jared ever. Maybe even my best portrait ever, but still, the things which didn't turn out well, piss me off Around 20h of hours of drawing So you'd better like it Just kiddin'!
Since I've portayed Jared so many times, I decided to stop numbering another portraits and decided to name them with the lyrics or the titles of 30 Seconds to Mars's songs.
Awesome drawing! it takes a brave person to move away from the typical frozen faced portraits you so often come across and go for a pose as unusual as thisone... it certainly has more impact! i love how you have rounded the drawing off nicely with a background too, so many people dont bother when drawing portraits but it really does make a HUGE difference
My only criticism is that i feel you ran out of steam a little when you got to the material of his top, compared to his face it looks slightly rushed, also the watermark across his face is a shame, its really distracting, but thats easily fixed
but really good job.... i have to commend you on the stubble, its not easy to draw lifelike stubble but you've done a good job.
i've moved this into the 'critique needed' folder in so hopefully you'll get a few more critiques!
