First of all, dedications:
in the first place, it's dedicated to Karolina, my mate from university. As I mentioned in the description of Imprisoned, she was strongly encouraging me to see "Vampire Diaries". I succumbed. Now we enjoy drooling together when we see Damon also dedicated to *arthawk87, a huge fan of the elder Salvatore brother. Franziska, I adore your art and hope it encourages you to draw a photorealistic portrait of Damon :> last but not least, dedicated to dear ~victory-a13, my big Hungarian sis, who is a sucker for vampires [yay, pun! ^^] and whom I love to talk with Treat it as encouragement to start watching the show ^^
[I guess this portrait is powered by encouragements haha ]
About the portrait:
Since a couple of years ago I was very fond of Ian as Boone in "Lost", as soon as I saw him as Damon, I re-fell in love [old love never gets rusty] and I thought I had to portray Somerhalder again.
I found this awesome, very popular reference photo and decided to change it a little bit in order to my caprice and in order to make this portrait different than others. I like this red-eyes-visible-veins thing when vampires are craving for blood and it made me play with his eyes. This simply shows the two natures of Damon: the bad vampire's side and the more human one. See how skillful Salvatore is? He can do his red eye trick with one eye! [No reference for the veins ] And man, I struggled a lot with the background. It took me too much time.
